What to eat at Jewel Changi Airport?

SINGAPORE: If you ask any Singaporean what they are proud of, I am sure many will say Changi Airport of Singapore. The airport has gotten even better with Jewel Changi Airport's opening in 2019, right before the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong first mentioned Jewel Changi Aiport in 2013 during the National Day Rally. It was part of the plan to double Changi Airport's capacity by mid-2020. The main attraction of Jewel Changi Aiport is the World's tallest Indoor Water Fall, HSBC Rain Vortex, standing at 40 metres high and with a water flow of 37,850 litres per minute. The waterfall is surrounded by a terraced forest setting making this a giant greenhouse. With more than a floor area of 135,700 m square, it has 300+ shops and restaurants, making this an ideal weekend getaway for families and a paradise for foodies.

Top restaurants at Jewel Changi Airport which we love

Let us know if you have other restaurants in Jewel that should be on this list by leaving in the comment below.

Tonito Latin American Kitchen

Tonito Latin American Kitchen serves Latin American street food and staples like Mexican quesadillas, Argentinian pasta, and Peruvian stews. We tried Arroz Con Pollo (S$24), which is Mexican Rice with Grilled Chicken, together with Fish Taco (S$18) and Esquites (S$12), and we are blown away. Tonito Latin American Kitchen might be the best Latin American food in the east.

Burger & Lobster

We love Burger & Lobster. Not only that we think Burger & Lobster has the best Lobster Roll in the building, but we also think they have the best burger too. Besides that, they also serve a mean truffle flies with real truffle bits. So if you are a lobster and truffle fan, this is a place not to be missed.

Shang Social

Shang Social is Shangri-La Group's first venture in a standalone dining establishment outside of a hotel setting and serving Cantonese, Huaiyang and Sichuan cuisines. Personally, I think the highlight is the unassuming Bamboo Noodles. We got some noodles and a dim sum, and we were happy campers.

NY Verden Bar and Grill

This might be the only high-end steak restaurant in the east. The 1.23kg Sanchoku Wagyu Tomahawk costs us S$279, but we have no regrets. If you do not want to spend so much on a meal, they have other reasonable priced dinner items around S$30-S$50. This is a place where you can impress your date.
