SINGAPORE: A year has passed since its opening. East Coast Commune opened its doors in October 2020, last year, during the COVID 19 Pandemic. It took them ten months, from the day they collected their keys from the landlord to when they opened. Like many other F&B outlets, few expected this to last so long. Yet, East Coast Commune managed to survive and stay strong with Circuit Breaker, Work from Home Order and Dining restrictions.
Imagine a morning where you did your morning run at East Coast Park, the sunrise over the horizon, the breeze on your face and fellow park users greeting you 'good morning'. Or imagine a morning where you will grab your laptop, head down to the beach and wanderlust. These are exactly what I did, and it felt so good. I spent half my time at East Coast Commune, either talking about my dreams or daydreaming.
We had their refreshing breakfast with berries and fruits that remind you of summer in a meadow somewhere in Europe. My affection for sourdough immediately made me fall in love with their made to order sourdough waffles.
