SINGAPORE: Nested at the fringe of Chinatown Singapore, Keong Siak Road is a one-way street with shophouses on both sides. Besides a good spot to take IG Worthy photos, there are some really good restaurants to explore.
Here is home to one of Singapore best burger joints. Potato Head is located in a heritage building at the junction of Keong Saik Road and Teck Lim Road, it will transport you back in time.
Potato Head is a 3-theme concept restaurant. It has a roof-top bar with a beautiful city view. A perfect place to wind down after a long day work. You will be mesmerised by the city view. Studio 1939 is one floor down, a bar where you can expect some unique cocktails concocted by some very talented cocktail artists (Bartender :P). However, I am there just for one thing, their burgers! hmmm...Maybe their hotdogs too...LOL.
I got a little excited when I saw the menu. I do believe a good burger doesn't need to be complicated. All you need is a good beef patty, nicely toasted bun and a slice of good cheese.
Therefore, without hesitation, I ordered the 𝗕𝗔𝗕𝗬 𝗛𝗨𝗘𝗬. It is made with Tasmanian Vintage beef patty, cheddar with simple ketchup and spiced mayo in a nice toasted brioche bun. The sight of it, just made my mouth water. Don't underestimate this simple burger. It is satisfaction guaranteed.
I am never a one burger person and I need to have my second. I do love some heat in my burger, with either some spice or Jalapeño will make it perfect. So I decided on the 𝗕𝗨𝗥𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗠𝗔𝗡. Using the same beef patty as per Baby Huey, it also has gochujang, ketchup, jalapeño relish, smoked Applewood cheddar and dashi mayo in a toasted wholemeal mango flour bun (that's a mouth full!). Heaven!!!! My only regret is not adding bacon. Guess I have to go back again.
After ordering 2 burgers, I‘m now faced with the difficult choice of deciding what sides I’d like to have. I was thinking of the old school truffle fries until my train of thought was derailed by their selection of hot dogs. OMG! They have a hotdog with roasted portobello mushroom, garlic miso butter, ketchup, truffle aioli, melted truffle cheese and truffle oil in a toasted butter bun, 𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗙𝗙𝗟𝗘 𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗗. I am sold! Having a burger without the fries is just a crime. So I ended up with my last order, 𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗙𝗙𝗟𝗘 𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗘𝗦𝗘 𝗙𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗦. Double cooked house fries, truffle cheese sauce, shaved truffles, truffle aioli and chives.
Going to Potato Head turned out to be a challenge. Ordered too much, walked away feeling guilty. It will be gym day for the next 3 days. Ok, that's all folks....see you next time.
