SINGAPORE: The best Nasi Lemak should be the one you have a craving for, and you are willing to travel there just for the Nasi Lemak. It shouldn't be the one you pick up along the way to work. Since I live in the east of Singapore, it is also pretty hard for me to consider those good Nasi Lemak in other parts of Singapore. After thinking long and hard, I can't even come up with five names that I love. I have six now, and I will add them to the list when I discover more.
If you know of anything other good Nasi Lemak in the East that should be on this list, let me know, and I will go check it out.
Mizzy Corner Nasi Lemak
Muzzy Corner is located at Changi Village Hawker Centre, surrounded by many other Nasi Lemak stalls. There is always a queue in front of the stall. They are doing so well that they occupied two stalls in the hawker centre. Mizzy Corner Nasi Lemak is Halal-Certified.
Highly Recommended: Chicken Wings, Otah

Nasi Lemak Specialist
It is unexpected to find this good Nasi Lemak in this remote hawker centre, away from the crowded town centre of Tampines. Nasi Lemak Specialist is located in the Tampines Round Market. There is always a queue, and you can spot many of their fans who will pack this to go. They use basmati rice, and their Nasi Lemak comes in the familiar standard sets as well. Nasi Lemak Specialist is Halal-Certified.
Highly Recommended: Fish and Beef Rendang

Bali Nasi Lemak
Bali Nasi Lemak has been located at the western end of Geylang since 1985. It opens in the evening to serve the night owls hanging around the area. At first glance, you might find this similar to Punggol Nasi Lemak. It is because they are related! The fragrant rice is not mushy, and you can taste every grain. But, unfortunately, Bali Nasi Lemak is not Halal-Certified.
Highly Recommended: Chicken Wings coated with Kicap Manis, Chicken Wings, Deep Fried Tofu
Address: 2 Lorong 15 Geylang Singapore 388596
Ponggol Nasi Lemak
Ponggol Nasi Lemak might be the most famous Chinese Nasi Lemak in Singapore, with a few stalls dotted all over Singapore. Recently, you can even spot them in shopping malls. Of course, the price is high, but this does deter any of their fans. For the branch along Tanjong Katong Road, it is just a constant queue.
Highly Recommended: Chicken Wings and more Chicken Wings
Address: 238 Tanjong Katong Rd, Singapore 437026
M by Madas Nasi Lemak
This must be the first made upon order Nasi Lemak hawker stall we have ever known. Besides the rice, peanuts and ikan bilis, everything else is made fresh. Hence, there is usually a waiting time between 10 to 15 mins. The chicken wing, fish and egg are all freshly fried. This ensures everything is hot. Their chilli sambal is impressive, and they are very generous about it. We were not only impressed by their amazing food, but their service is also awesome too.
Highly Recommended: Chicken Wings and fried Ikan Kuning (fish)
Address: 348 Bedok Rd, #02-17 The Bedok Marketplace, Singapore 469560
D'Authentic Nasi Lemak
D'Authentic Nasi Lemak is located inside Promenade Market at Marine Parade. On a Sunday morning, the queue is just constant. Inside the stall, everyone was preparing and serving the food like clockwork. The rice is perfectly cooked with a flavourful coconut aroma. We love their chicken wing, but it is the sambal cuttlefish that truly caught our attention. We seldom see this dish in other Nasi Lemak stall in Singapore, even though it is quite common in Malaysia. D'Authentic Nasi Lemak can easily be one of the top 3 most popular stalls in this hawker centre.
Highly Recommended: Chicken Wings and Sambal Cuttlefish
Address: 84 Marine Parade Central, #01-36, Singapore 440084
Nasi Lemak Ayam Taliwang
Nasi Lemak Ayam Taliwang made it to the Michelin Guide in a very short span, and all the rave is about their Ayam Taliwang. Besides the usual fried chicken wings and fish, Nasi Lemak Ayam Taliwang gives diners an alternative by serving this spicy Indonesian grilled chicken from Lombok. Their Ayam Taliwang marinade is made from generous amounts of fresh chilli, shallots, tamarind juice and belachan suited for the local taste. Nasi Lemak Ayam Taliwang doesn't use basmati rice for their Nasi Lemak. Therefore, it is mushier in texture. However, it is still a very fragrant plate of rice. This is an excellent way to start your day, any day.
Highly Recommended: Ayam Taliwang

Boon Lay Power Nasi Lemak
For the longest time, for those in the east to go all the way, a long and painful ride, to Boon Lay to have this wonderful nasi lemak. Not to mention there are other fabulous nasi lemak stalls along the way, which will make you question the logic of driving 40 minutes to have this. But, with the opening of Boon Lay Power Nasi Lemak in Timbre+ Eastside, we don't have to doubt ourselves again! The same fragrant rice with amazing sambal is now within reach, and it sure doesn't disappoint.
